DEFINITIONS
FULLER’S EARTH:
- It is a variety of clay that has high capacity adsorbing basic colors and can remove this colors from solution in animal, vegetable or minerals oils as well as from some other liquids, especially water It is valuable when its adsorptive powers are strong enough to permit it to complete actively with fuller’s earth already Accepted as of standard quality for refining oils.
- Fuller’s earth is Non Plastic clay that can be used to decolorize , filter and purify animal, Mineral and vegetable oils and greases.
- Fuller’s earth is a term which is also used to refer Attapulgite.
- Fuller’s earth is a naturally mined clay that is considered a chemically inert material.
ACTIVATED EARTH:
- Fuller’s earth activation process by many suitable acids and heat treatment and so rendered more suitable used in the clarification of oils .The exact mode of treatment various some what with the particular fuller’s earth to be activated
COMPOSITIONS
Analyses of various samples of fuller’s earth vary so greatly that chemical analyses are well understood to be know criterion what ever in determining whether or not a particular clay shall be classified as a fuller’s earth. Like all other clay’s, fuller’s earth is a hydrous, aluminum, silicate, containing small proportion of other substances. Most fuller’s earth contain a higher percentage of water of composition than most clays, but this water is not an essential factor in the bleaching properties of fuller’s earth’s: some bleach fully as will after it has been driving of as before ,and others laws, much of their, bleaching power when this water is removed.
